The Circus was in town this weekend so Cory and I got tickets and took the girls. Even though my parents say they took me to the circus when I was little I don't remember going so this was kind of my first time at the circus too. The girls had a lot of fun and I enjoyed watching their faces and reactions as the show went on and new acts began. I do have to admit that I felt sad as I watched the horses run around and around in a circle that was too small for their big bodies to maneuver in. My heart also ached for the dogs as they got brought out and did their tricks. It did make me feel better to see that they all looked well fed and kept, I tried not to think to much about anything else.
Both the girls did really well throughout the show, Claire didn't want it to end and I honestly think that she could have watched another 30-45 minutes worth. Paige hung in there well for the first 40 minutes and then started to get antsy and hungry, lucky for us they had intermission after and hour so we got some food and went potty.
I could not believe the man who worked with the tigers, I think he has a death wish. Those animals are ENORMOUS!! This is horrible to say but during this part of the show I kept thinking about Siegfried and Roy and what I would do if one of those tigers decided it wanted a snack, I determined very quickly that I would have to throw the girls heads into my chest! A few of those tigers were pissed, growling, showing their teeth and trying to claw him. Cory thought that it was probably part of the show, I tend to think not, there were some very unhappy tigers in the cage last night.
I took quite a few pictures, however, it was so dark in there that my flash could only do so much. Some of the pictures turned out better than others so I posted a few.
The girls with their daddy all ready to go!

Me and my girls, seriously do either of them look like me??

This really was pretty, they brought him/her out at the very beginning for the National Anthem.

The girls and daddy watching the show.

Puppies waiting patiently for their turn.

This guy was fearless, some of the tricks he did were amazing.

There was NOT a net or anything under these tight rope walkers.

I felt sorry for the Elephants too, they are so big but really are graceful.

Angry tiger, all an act I think not!

These two guys were amazing, man could they ever get those cages going fast.

In the car on the way home, Paige is all smiles.

Claire was exhausted, she had a blast!
I love the people who hang from the roaps the most.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like you all had so much fun! I haven't been to the circus since I was a little girl.
ReplyDeleteMy kids would enjoy the circus, but i just cannot go. I would be so worried about the animals the whole time, I just don't want to see them and have to worry. Crazy i know. Looks like the girls enjoyed it!
