The girls have been cracking me up lately with all their questions and curiosity so I thought I would share some of it with you, plus a few other random things.
Claire:
* What happens to the sun once it goes down, does it go to another planet?
* Why does it rain?
* What are fans made out of?
* What are airplanes made out of?
* What is dirt made out of?
* Daddy, how many different kinds of cars are there? Cory then told her a lot, her
next question was, can you name them?
* Why did Jesus die?
* What is a sin?
* This one is the best, How do you make babies? We have been asked that twice now by
our much too curious/smart 4 year old.
Paige:
She has really started coming into her own personality over the past few months and the things she says and does shock us all.
* Leave me alone, I'm mad at you
* Just now when I was putting her down for her nap she told me my breath smelled, it must be pretty bad for a 2 year old to notice.
* She loves to wear her dress up shoes, I mean as soon as she gets out of bed in the morning she goes right to them to put on and starts strutting around the house.
* Lately when she asks me something I have been answering by saying "umm humm" meaning "yes" and she is so funny she will look at me and say "what is umm humm" and every time I answer her then by saying "yes" now when I say "umm humm" she will say "why you say umm humm", I never noticed how often I say it.
* She no longer calls Claire "sissy" but has moved on to calling her "Claire". At first I couldn't wait for her to call her by her name, but now I miss "sissy", she did say it the other day just once and I LOVED it!!
I almost had some serious road rage with the trash truck this morning. I mean the nerve of these trash men thinking they can park their truck in the middle of the street so nobody can get pass them on either side and then they expect you to back up and go around. This morning I was leaving to take Claire to Vacation Bible School and there is the trash truck blocking the entire road. I waited patiently for him to finish emptying my neighbors trash so he could then move out of my way. WRONG, he got back in the truck and just sat there staring at me as I sat starting at him. He then had the nerve to throw up his arms as to say what are you waiting for, so I motioned for him to back up. He then shook his head and told me to back up, this went back and forth a few more times and then I gave in and backed up as I was going to be late getting Claire to VBS. However, as I was backing up I grabbed my cellphone, making sure he saw that I had it, then stopped, looked at the number on the side of the truck for Allied Waste and dialed again making sure he knew what I was doing. I then saw him quickly grab his phone and started calling someone as well, I can only think that it was work to try and beat my complaint call. He is lucky that I was in a hurry otherwise I was in the mood to just sit there and make him move or be late for the rest of his route. Next time ol trash guy you better watch out!
I am absolutely THRILLED that Jillian picked Ed on The Bachelorette!! I watched "After the Final Rose" last night and they seem SOOO happy together. I only hope that it lasts and that they get married and have a very happy life together. It sounds like as of September 1st Jillian is packing up her bags and moving to Chicago. They said they are planning a wedding within the next 12 months, that they have done everything super fast so far so why slow down now? Well DeAnna and Jesse said the same thing and even had a wedding date picked out and we all know what happened there. I hope this one works out like Trista and Ryan and they have beautiful babies.
Cory is working late tonight so when Paige wakes up from her nap the girls and I are heading to the pool and then I will probably take them to McDonald's for dinner. Tomorrow night I am having a girls night out with my friends Carol and Kelli, we are doing dinner and then heading to the movies to see Harry Potter!
One last thing before I sign off for the day, I want to wish my dad a very happy 65th birthday. He is such a strong and wonderful man, I love you more everyday dad!

Tuesdays Tasties
This recipe was SO easy and good, the chicken was so tender it just fell apart. We had enough left for about 3 days of leftovers!
Easy Salsa Crock-Pot Chicken
Ingredients:
4 boneless chicken breasts
1 package taco seasoning (next time I will use 1.5 packets for more flavor)
1 jar salsa (I used 1.5 jars)
Tortilla shells or Crunchy Taco Shells
Cheese
Sour cream
Preparation Sprinkle each chicken breast with taco seasoning-covering all sides of chicken. Place chicken breasts in crock-pot and cover with salsa.
Cook on HI for 5 hours. Take chicken from crock-pot and shred with a fork. Fill soft or crunchy tortilla shells with the chicken, adding more salsa on top from crock-pot, cheese, sour cream and enjoy.
If you aren't in the mood for tacos, you can simply place each breast over cooked rice adding more salsa from the pot on top as well.
Notes: This dish is easy to do- and great either way as tacos or on top of rice. Pick a salsa your family likes and use a liner for the pot, it makes clean up a breeze!

Lori's Baby Shower
A good friend of mine is expecting her first little one to arrive the beginning of November so her sister in law, best friend and I have been working together to throw her a fantastic shower. I have to say that I have thrown three baby showers in the past but this one has been the most fun of all. I don't know if it is because we have the Internet now with all these great resources or if it is because I am older and have two little ones of my own and want to make this a great day for Lori. Whatever it is I am having a blast and am coming up with new thoughts and ideas everyday!
So far we have the theme which I will share is pink and brown, I think Lori has probably figured this out from the invitations, yes, she is having a GIRL yeah!!!! I figured this would be a great theme considering Lori is doing the nursery in pink and brown! Her cake is picked out and ordered, paper products have been picked out and Jamie (best friend) will order them once we get our final count or close to it, I found the cutest party favors online and again will order them once the date gets closer and we have a better idea of how many we will need. I went out today and got things to fill the party favors with, fun!! All we will have to do is order flowers and balloons once we get closer to the date and we are good to go!
Some of you might be thinking that I am crazy for already buying all this stuff being that she isn't due until November, however, do to having so many different schedules to work around we are having the shower at the end of August. We were originally going to shoot for middle to late September but it just didn't work out. I was even willing to do beginning of October but some of the ladies were worried about getting too close to the due date in case she ends up going early. That thought never crossed my mind considering Claire was 10 days late and Paige was induced the week of my due date, what can I say we have good ovens in my family and the babies just aren't in any hurry to come out. Anyways, the shower is August 29th and I can't wait to share all the details and photos with you all once it is over.
I can only imagine how much fun it must be to a wedding planner. You get a budget and ideas of what the bride wants and get to go with it. Even an interior designer would be great, oh well maybe in my next life.

Tuesdays Tasties
Parmesan Chicken Ranch Wraps
This is one of my favorite recipes, especially on a hot day when you just want something refreshing to eat. Not only is it really easy but, you don't even have to heat up your house by turning on the oven! The best part is that you can have everything cut up and ready to go, all you have to do is put all the ingredients on the table and everyone can make their own.
What you need:
* Flour Tortillas
* Ranch Dressing
* Parmesan Cheese
* Diced Red Onion
* Shredded Lettuce
* Chicken cut up into bite sized pieces
How to put them together:
For each tortilla spread your desired amount of ranch dressing over the entire surface. Sprinkle on some Parmesan cheese. Add red onion and lettuce. Put your chicken in the middle, fold in the two opposite sides of the tortilla and roll up bottom to enclose filling.
Enjoy!!

9-10:30am
Well my Monday morning has been, how should I word it.....exhausting! I really need to start going to bed earlier so when the girls get up at 8am I feel rested and not crabby. Here is a glimpse of some of the things that came out of my mouth within a 90 minute period this morning.
*No, you can't have a lollipop it is only 9 in the morning.
*Leave your sister alone.
*Don't eat the soap, did you just eat the soap?
*I am in the restroom, I will be out in a minute.
*No, you can not paint your own fingernails.
*Don't take food/trash out of the trash can it is dirty.
*Don't smell the trash can that is gross.
*Your not the mom I will take care of it.
*Stop chasing your sister, she doesn't like it and one of you is going to get hurt.
*We are not going anywhere until your room is cleaned up.
*Putting everything into one big pile is not what I call cleaned up.
I think you all get my point, like I said it has been an exhausting morning. At least we are going out to dinner with Nana and Papa tonight, that will help the evening pass quickly.
Well, Paige is asleep, Claire is coloring and I am off to clean out and reorganize my pantry, wahoo!

A Beautiful Day!!
I can not get over the weather we are having here right now and are suppose to have for the rest of the weekend. Here it is middle of July and 75 degrees, when it is normally mid to upper 90's with a TON of humidity. I actually opened the windows in the house to get some fresh air in and am loving it. I can hear the wind blowing, the birds singing, our neighbor playing with their dog (yes you Carol) and even people doing yard work, it feels like Spring again. I decided that it was way to beautiful of a day to spend inside so the girls and I went to the park. For the first 30-40 minutes I walked around with them and helped Claire figure out how to climb the rock wall and reassured Paige that she was okay and not going to fall off the top of the rock wall once I got her up there. For the last 15 minutes or so I just sat back and watched all the kids playing. I enjoyed the warmth of the sun as it beat down on me and loved feeling the cool breeze as it blew past me and through my hair. I could easily live somewhere that has this type of weather year round. It is so fun to sit back and watch kids play and how they interact with each other when they think you are not around or watching.
Here are a few pics from our day at the park. Any of you other bloggers from STL, can you name which park we went to?

You can see the concern on Paige's face, she wanted down!

My climber taking a little break and trying to figure out where to grab/step next.

For some reason Paige loved the rocks, seriously of all the things to play with, rocks?

Vacation Pics Days 4-7
Venice Beach- Day 4
Walking with Nana and Papa on the way to the Fishing Pier so we can rent some sifters.

On the boardwalk looking out onto the ocean!

Everybody now!

The girls with Nana and Papa

Dad and Cory working hard for those sharks teeth.

Hey, Cory is this one I can't tell!

Venice was really beautiful even though it was extremely hot and we didn't have much luck finding sharks teeth. Cory did find some though so it wasn't a wasted trip!

Day 5
Our swimmer!

This was the first night we tried to take pictures but it was still too sunny!

Off to dinner at Doc Ford's!

Day 6- Whose ready for pictures and ice cream??

The Lighthouse

This one is too funny not to share, like our hair??

Last Day- Cory and I left the girls with my parents and went out to dinner! We went to one of the islands most popular restaraunts The Island Cow. We heard that their portions were huge and they weren't kidding. Cory said don't forget the name of the restaruant.

Tuesdays Tasties
What do you all say that we do a tasty appetizer this week? This was introduced to me by my neighbor Carol and is really good and easy. Every time that I make it I get asked for the recipe so here you go ladies!
Southwest Corn Dip
What you need:
* 3 cans shoepeg corn
* 1 small jar diced pimentos
* 1 bunch green onions finely chopped
* 1-2 small cans chopped green chillies
* Jalapenos- to taste the hotter you like the more you add obviously!
* 2 cups Cheddar Cheese
* 1 cup Monetery Jack Cheese
* 1 cup Hellman's Mayo
* 1 cup Sour Cream
Mix all the ingredients together in a large bowl and store in fridge, overnight is best! I serve with Frito Scoops.
If you are having a large party and need a lot of food go ahead and make this recipe as is, however, if you are only have 1 or 2 couples over then I would cut the recipe in half as it makes a ton!
Enjoy!!

Vacation Pics- Days 1-3
Even though it is 5:30am and the sun isn't even up yet the girls are all smiles and so excited to go to the beach!

We are there and head straight to the beach. The girls are showing me the first of many shells they found during our stay.

I wasn't sure how Paige was going to like the beach and waves of the ocean, but she did great and loved them both. I can not believe how calm the water is in Sanibel, no waves all we saw were ripples that were caused by boats and jetski's.

Day 2- Sunday
Having lunch on our awesome screened in patio.

The condos we stayed in.

Cory digging his hole, he started it on day 2 and wanted to see how big he could get it.

Swimming with daddy!

Day 3- Monday
The girls were up and ready to go back out to the beach and pool by 8am.

Paige learned how to jump into the pool with her innertube around her. She did that a couple of times and then ditched it to go solo, she loves going all the way under and then coming back up!

Yes, I was there too.

Claire loves her Papa!!

That is all for now, I will post days 4-7 on Wednesday as tomorrow is Tuesdays Tasties, be sure to check back!
