Happy Birthday Paige

I can't believe that it has already been 4 years! It seems like just yesterday I was rocking you in your nursery giving you a bottle trying to savor every minute knowing it would all be gone too fast. Here you are 4 years old and just beginning to develop your personality (which is like a firecracker, you don't hold anything back). Expressing your thoughts and feelings, wants and needs. You are such a smart, sweet and loving little girl. We love you happy birthday!

Here are some (ok a lot) of pictures from your big day. With Easter falling on your actual birthday this year, we decided to give you your gifts from us and have your family party on Saturday. I love some of the expressions that I captured with the photos. Since you don't like to be fussed over (at least at the age of 4) and aren't very lovey dovey (except with me and daddy) it is sometimes hard to tell if you really like something you are given. Both daddy and I know that you don't like a lot of attention and even though you loved your gifts it might have been hard for some to realize. This pictures tell/show it all.

Yes we made the cake! This was not easy, I bought one of those Wilton Monkey cake pans. I did the base of the icing but my artsy hubby did the outline and mostly everything else.

After much running around to basically every store I could think of and the help of Craigslist, the wall is done!

A little different angle so you can see my wrought iron wall decor that my sister found for me on Craigslist. It is a Ballard Design for those of you familiar with that company. If I would have bought it brand new it would have been about $180, I got it for $40! Another reason I love Craigslist!! I still want to get another knickknack for the cabinet to bring in more of the color from the wall and rug, but I LOVE how it turned out!!

Help!

Anyone out there that has an idea I would love to hear it. I have this wall in my kitchen that is begging me to do something with it and I just don't know what. The most obvious thing is to get some pictures/paintings to hang up, however, I can't find anything that I like. I have been to at least 6 stores and nothing. I have also thought about getting some sort of cabinet/table to put along the wall and then decorate the cabinet as well as putting pictures on either side of the cabinet, but if I do that there isn't much room then between what would be the cabinet and the table. Got the rug over the weekend from Lowe's. It is great because it pulls in the browns from both the kitchen and dining room as well as the blue from our family room. Here are some pictures of the rest of my kitchen so you can get an idea of what I have to work with. I am going to get some cute curtains to hang over my sink, probably black and white. The desk area, what do you think of maybe putting a cute saying on the soffit above the desk? I have this big door to work with as well, let's in a lot of light. Here are the canisters that I got, I decided to fill them with some quick snacks for the girls. I just got the clock last week and love it!
