Over 1,000 Hits

I thought I would do a quick post to thank everyone who checks in with my blog regularly, I just noticed that as of today I have over 1,000 hits, Wahoo! I always wonder how many people out there are actually reading my entries because I don't get very many comments, however, since I put the site meter on I can see how many people are viewing my blog and were most of my hits are coming from. Now I do have to say there are a couple of regulars out there that I can't put my finger on like the one viewer from Saint Charles and Florissant and then there is another regular from Melrose Park, IL, who are you please let me know. It is as easy as going to the bottom of my post and hitting comment, you then simply use your regular email address as your "username" and your password to your email as your "password".

Another thing to report is that I took Paige to the doctor today for her 2 year check up and she is weighing in at 25 lbs (35%) and is 34.5 inches (70%), tall and thin! My pediatrician and I were laughing about how Paige is going to be the big/little sister before we know it and that will bring on some conflict between the girls we are sure. If the old wise tell is correct about doubling their height at the age of 2, then Paige should be about 5'9 and Claire around 5'6 to 5'6.5, only time will tell. I have heard from people that Paige is going to be tall like me but look like Cory and Claire will be shorter like Cory but look like me. Also, the doc said that a lot of the things that Paige is doing right now: potty trained, knows 3 colors, can count to 13, can undress herself (underwear, pants and socks and shoes off) as well as having full blown conversations with us that these are all things that she shouldn't really be able to do until she is 3, oh well we all knew she was a smarty, have a great Thursday!

Bare Bones

Here is the latest, the bathroom is completely gutted from the ceiling down to the floor. It took 3 weekends to rip it all out anyone want to take a guess how long it is going to take to put it all back in???
We went to Lowe's over the weekend and picked out new faucets for the sinks and we also went to Gateway Kitchen and Bath and ordered the new vanity, counter top and sinks. Last thing I need to do is head back to Lowe's and pick out new light fixtures. We have had the marble for the floor for over a year as we have already put it other places in the house. I also already have the linens bought and waiting in the closet to get put out. I am really hoping that this will all be done by middle of June, that gives Cory 7 weeks to fulfill my request. Only time will tell!

Happy Birthday Paige!

Two years ago today at 3:31pm you entered this world weighing in at 8 lbs even. I remember your birth like it happened yesterday. The nurse telling me that you were more than ready to enter this world and that we might not be able to wait for my doctor to arrive, that the on call doctor at the hospital may have to deliver you. Your daddy and I knew from that very moment that you were a very independent and determined little girl.

Last year at your 1st birthday party you were going through some severe stranger/separation anxiety and did not want to be with anyone but me. You have changed so much in just one year it is hard to wrap my head around it all.

You love your sister and she loves you more than you will ever know.

I love to watch the two of you play and laugh together I can already see how much you depend on each other. The two of you have a bond that nothing or no one can hold a candle to.

If I had to pick some words to describe you they would be: Funny- you are always making all of us laugh. Your vocabulary is unbelievable the words you know and how you express yourself brings a smile to my face and makes me laugh many times each day. Dare Devil- you are not afraid to try anything at least once, you see Claire doing something and nothing is going to stop you from being right there with her. Independent- I don't know how many times a day I hear you say "myself". You are very determined to do things by yourself, but when you realize you can't you are not afraid to ask for help, that is when I hear "helpe me".

I am truly blessed to be your mother and to be able to watch you grow and experience everything life has to offer on a daily basis. You are such a snuggle bug and I love our time together right before bed when we rock in the glider and sing our three songs: Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Rock a Bye Baby and You are my Sunshine. Your daddy and I love you more than you will ever know and wish our sweet, baby girl a very Happy Birthday!

Spring Sing

Yesterday was "Spring Sing" at Claire's preschool. Cory worked from home so that he could come with me since he has not been able to make it to the other two performances this year. Claire was SO excited that her daddy was coming and she stole the show if I do say so myself. We have always known that she loves music and to dance and she showed us that again yesterday. Her class sang four songs, two of which you will see on the video. I am sure that you will all recognize them both as they are very popular with 3 & 4 year olds. Claire was also excited about the sunglasses they all got to wear, their teachers Ms. Kelly and Ms. Chris told them they were rock star glasses. Enjoy!!

Bathroom Update

Cory completely demo'd the bathroom this weekend with the tub being the only thing left. Next thing on the ta do list is to get the drain released so we can pull that 300 lb baby out of there and start smacking down the ceiling. Oh yes, for those of you who forgot or didn't know, when we had our roof replaced this past fall one of the workers put either his foot or the shovel, we aren't sure which one, through the roof into the bathroom. So once the ceiling is down Cory can start putting the new ceiling and walls back up. I was able to keep the girls occupied this weekend by going to the park or to some one's house, I hope the weather continues to cooperate at least one day on the weekend so we can be outside.

Thoughts on Idol

I don't usually do a post on American Idol I just usually post my opinion on the blog of my other blogger friends, however, no body has done a posting yet today on what they thought so here it goes:

Allison- I am sorry but I thought she did HORRIBLE... I don't know what song Simon was listening to but apparently we were listening to two different versions. I thought that the key she sang in was way to low for her and I am sorry but it just didn't sound good.

Anoop- I thought that he did a FANTASTIC job!! I really like the Bryan Adams song that he sang and thought that he was totally on pitch unlike some of the others from last night. Way to go Anoopdog!

Matt- What are you thinking? You either need to be blues, R&B or pop but you can't roll them all into one. I am sad too because I really like Matt and thought he did really well last week, but last night not so much.

Adam- Yes, you are a very good singer but not for American Idol. I was very entertained by his performance last night and did feel as though I was watching a concert, but will I buy his album when this is all said and done, I think not.

Danny- I love Danny and think that he did a really good job last night. However, I am starting to get a little tired of hearing about his late wife. Yes, it is sad but how much longer is that card going to be played. He did have me from the beginning of the song to the end though.

Lil- Didn't care for this at all. Again same as Allison I thought that it was pitchy and she should have sang something else. Why in the world would she sing "The Rose" when they keep telling her to stick with the R&B songs? I especially didn't care for it when she turned it to more gospel, no thanks. I think she needs to go home very soon.

Kris- Even though I had never heard the song that he sang last night I thought he did a really good job. I hope that since the song wasn't very well known that this won't come back to bite him tonight.

According to dialidol.com the only person who is 100% safe is Danny. The bottom 3 are Allison, Matt and Kris is the lowest. Hopefully if it is Kris who has the lowest number of votes the judges will save him, after all they can only use the judges save for two more weeks. What did you all think?

Whatcha Think?

Yesterday Cory and I decided that it was time to take on the task of redoing the girls bathroom. I told Cory that I am tired of the girls not being able to take baths due to the bath tub draining SO slowly and then all the dirt and residue gets left behind meaning, I have to clean the bath tub first every time before they can bath and it is RIDICULOUS.... I really would like to be able to take a shower by myself some day soon and not have to worry about cleaning two other little people or worrying about getting soap in some one's eyes while I rinse myself off. I mean showers are suppose to be relaxing right, well my haven't been for some time now. Here is a picture of the bathroom after one day, well actually only a few hours of demo.

I am going to be so sad to lose my tile with the Fleur De Lys design in every couple squares.

Oh yes and I have picked out the new wallpaper that I can't wait to put up after Cory has ripped out all the tile and put drywall back, let me know what you think.

NOT, man is that awful or what? We actually found that under the mirror that was above the girls sink, whoever came in and re wallpapered didn't bother taking the mirror down and doing it correctly, they did it the lazy way and left a piece of the 70's behind for us to enjoy. I will take pictures of the before and after and post them once the project is all done. Don't hold your breath though I am sure it will be at least a month or maybe two before Cory is all done, the only time he will have to work on it will be the weekends. God, please help me through this time and provide me with patience. :)

Weekend of Easter Fun!

We had an exciting weekend of non-stop fun with a total of four Easter Egg Hunts, coloring eggs, seeing the Easter Bunny twice and spending time with our friends and family. Friday was an exciting day for Claire because she got her glasses.

We are very proud of her as she is doing a really good job of keeping them on... Paige was also very excited for Claire.

After we got home from getting Claire's glasses we started dying Easter Eggs

On Saturday we went with some of our friends to a park nearby that does an Easter Egg Hunt for kids 0-7 years of age. I don't know if you would really call it a hunt it seems to be more like making a mad dash to the closest pile of eggs and grabbing them like crazy as fast as you can. Claire did fairly well were Paige did a lot of standing and staring at all the people and commotion around her.

Claire doing her victory dance after the mad dash was over.

Paige still taking it all in, but not letting go of her egg!

I had to be in the picture again this year as Paige is still not very comfortable with being too close to the bunny by herself.

After Paige's nap we headed out to my Aunt's house in Union where she had a giant egg hunt for her nieces and nephew's kids (12 total) on her land. It was a lot of fun and I would say out of all the egg hunts we did that was one of the girls favorites...Not only did the girls get a TON of eggs with candy and money in them they each also got a HUGE bag full of toys and all kinds of goodies.

This morning the girls woke up and went downstairs to find their baskets and to see what the Easter Bunny had left them, then we got dressed and headed outside to find all the eggs that he left behind.

Claire with her own Palm Pilot.....

Paige with a giant container of blue driveway/sidewalk paint.

We then headed inside to get dressed in our Easter dresses and wait for the rest of the family to arrive for brunch. Here are a few pics of all the kids with Nana and Papa.

Like I said it was a very fun and busy weekend! I don't know who is more tired Cory and I or the girls, but we did have a great Easter and I hope you all did too!
