We are here and absolutely loving Sanibel. Both our flights, the one from STL to Orlando and the one from Orlando to Ft. Myers got in early. This was both the girls first airplane ride and they both did AWESOME. Claire sat with Cory from STL to Orlando and Paige with me and then we switched from Orlando to Ft. Myers. Claire kept busy by coloring then watching Sleeping Beauty and then water coloring. Paige sat still like a champ, I had her in her car seat which I know helped a ton. I kept her distracted my food, lollipops and listening to my Ipod. Paige tried out the bathrooms three times, she is now a pro going on a plane! :) I can't believe how well the girls hung in there last night considering we were up by 4:45am and they didn't get to bed until 8pm. Even once they were in bed they were so excited to be sharing a room that they didn't fall asleep until after 9:30pm. Just when they had finished talking and I thought they were asleep, the fireworks starting going off and they were up and watching them with me and Nana.
Today was our first day at the beach. The girls loved making sandcastles with Cory and digging a huge hole which they were saying was going to be a hot tub. We also took them out in the ocean and they both LOVE it. I can't believe how calm the water is and how far out we can go and the water is only at our waist. We have already found some cool shells, we are making a pile. On the way back from the beach we stopped to rinse off and then try out the pool. The water is really nice and the girls had a good time showing Nana and Papa how they jump in and swim. We came in after being out in the sun for about an hour and a half, don't want to get too much too soon, for lunch and now the girls are napping. Cory is out taking a bike ride and will be back in about 20 minutes to switch off with me so I can head outside and he will sit with the girls. Speaking of bike rides I can't believe how flat it is here. Everyone rides bikes, walks or runs everywhere and is so friendly.
Sorry I can't post any pictures Cory's laptop doesn't have a spot for my memory card from my camera. Don't worry I am taking plenty and will post some once we get home. We are planning on taking a day trip up to Venice Beach to get some sharks teeth and check out their beaches too. Hope everyone had a good 4th!
Yay, glad to hear the plane ride was such a success! Isn't Sanibel pretty, you are right it is so peaceful! Glad you are having a great trip. We got a TON of rain on Sat am. so the flowers are good for a few. All is good here. See ya next Sat.
