My Little Fish

It is official as of today Claire has figured out how to swim without her floaties. She was in the water with my mom and all the sudden the next thing I knew she was swimming from my mom to the steps. I am talking totally under water, kicking her feet and using her arms. I couldn't believe it, all of the sudden it has all come together for her. She must have swam back and forth from either me to mom, mom to Cory, me to the steps, mom to the steps (you get my point) for a good 30-40 minutes. We would get further and further away from each other or the steps and she would just keep on swimming. She hasn't quite figured out how to swim, take and breath and then swim some more but she is definitely getting close. I kept trying to get her to take a break for awhile as we could all tell that she was getting tired, but she was so excited and proud of herself that she just wouldn't stop. Finally I got her to stop and come inside and take a nap with Paige. Both the girls were worn out from all the swimming and sun and took wonderful naps, naps that we had to wake them both from.

We went to dinner tonight at Doc Ford's Restaurant. The food was good and we all enjoyed ourselves. We found out that the man who owns Doc Ford's is actually an author his name is Randy Wayne White and has written around 13-14 books. They are all based off his life experiences here in Sanibel. The main character is named Doc Ford and is a marine biologist who use to be in the secret service and every book has a new mystery. I think that both Cory and my dad are going to start reading the series, some of the people that we have gotten to know here at the resort say that once you read one book you are hooked, we will see.
