Monty's Lips

On Saturday night Cory and I along with our friends Dave & Lori went on a Road Rally around Ballwin. F.Y.I. Dave & Lori's last name is Lipscomb therefore you put Montgomery and Lipscomb together and shorten them both getting our team name Monty's Lips. It was probably more like a Scavenger Hunt actually as you had certain tasks you had to complete and you needed to take a picture to prove that you had done so. Every task was worth points either 10, 15, 20 or one big task was worth 30 points. We had a lot of fun running around Ballwin acting like a bunch of kids and got some pretty good looks as we were completing the tasks. Our friend Lori was determined to win this Road Rally and receive a $100 gift certificate to Clancy's Restaurant, 2nd place was a $75 G.C. to Charlotte's Rib BBQ and 3rd place was a $50 G.C. to Charlotte's Rib BBQ. So since we were going to win we only wanted to complete the tasks with the highest points. So we started off by completing all the tasks worth 20 points and there was 9 of those. Then we moved onto the 15 pointers and there was 11 of those. Now I need to let you know that we had 2.5 hours do complete these tasks and be back at the designated location by 8:45pm or you lost a point for every minute that you were late. Also, there were 25 tasks but we were to only complete and submit 15 tasks so we had to choose which ones we wanted to tackle. Throughout our run around Ballwin trying to figure out ways to get our tasks done Lori keep talking about completing the 30 point task and how if we wanted to win, (which we were going to) that we had to do the 30 pointer. Well let me fill you on what the 30point task entailed. All of you who live around us will appreciate this and understand why I did not want to complete this task and was perfectly fine with coming in second or third and dining at Charlotte's Rib BBQ. We were to go to the North Pointe Aquatic Center and STAND UNDER the Bucket Falls while it was TIPPING!! In Lori's defense she doesn't not live in Ballwin and was not aware of how much water tips out of this bucket once it is full, she keep saying we can just stick our heads under and get them wet. I had to explain to her that this was not possible there was no way that we could stand under the Bucket Falls and only get our heads wet and nothing else. So we continued on with our hunt and completed all the other high point tasks that we could. Well once we were finished with all the 20 and 15 point task my wonderful husband started siding with Lori and says "let's just go over to the Pointe and see if we can even get in and how badly we would get wet". I stood my ground the entire way to the Pointe and thought okay well only three of us have to be in the picture as one person had to take it, SO I would take it and Dave could stand under the Falls with Lori and Cory. WRONG, Dave wasn't going to do it either so it was either me or we couldn't complete the task and won't win the Road Rally!! So what was the end conclusion you ask did we complete the 30 point task and STAND UNDER the Bucket Falls??? 1st Task: A male member of your team trying on a dress in public (I was cracking up, my husband in a dress)

2nd Task: Members wearing camouflage and hugging a tree (gotta love Target, Cory was losing his pants)

3rd Task: Members of your team by a tombstone with a last name of 12 letters or more (we weren't sure if this was disrespectful or not)

4th Task: Members showing us "I can't believe we all fit in here!"

5th Task: Members campaigning for an unlikely cause, (We Want Dirtier Clothes)

6th Task: Members spelling something in people letters.

7th Task: Members doing exactly what the sign says: "Keep Entrance Chained"

Final Task: YES! I did it, after all it was all for FUN!!


Oh Yeah and we ended up with 3rd place because they messed up on the adding, but once Lori called them on it they realized that they were wrong and are going to be sending us something in the mail to Clancy's for the 1st place prize, we will see if we ever get that, at least we got $50 for some BBQ!!
