This weekend we took the girls to the pumpkin patch for some fun family time. We have been working so much on the house that our fun family time has been few and far between. I told Cory that we needed to do this as the girls deserve a little fun since they have been so good through the move and settling in of the new house. I also think that Cory and I deserve some away from the house time too. So with my mom and dad in tow all six of us headed to the pumpkin patch.
First stop was to the face painting tent where Claire got a candy corn painted on her cheek and Paige got a pumpkin.
Next stop a ride in the barrel train. I don't know what else to call it except exactly what it looks like. The kids get to sit in something that looks like a barrel and get pulled around the pumpkin field by a four wheeler. After the barrel train ride and some fun time playing I wanted to get some pictures of the girls with some pumpkins. As I was taking the first picture of Claire I got sad and had a flash back of the very first time we took her to the pumpkin patch. She was only 5 months old and couldn't even sit up by herself. I can remember it just like it was yesterday from her little bald head to what she was wearing. Ah heck I just have to show you all!
Now look at her five years later all big, sitting by herself without any support and the pumpkins all look so little around her. One thing for sure she no longer has a little bald head, she was blessed to get a full head of thick hair just like her mommy!
Then there is my little Paige I can remember taking her to the pumpkin patch for the first time as well, she was 6 months and just as bald as Claire was at that age, however, she could sit up on her own. It was so sunny and warm that day that we had a really hard time getting a picture of her with her eyes open as she kept closing them against the sun also she was obsessed with the stems on the pumpkins and kept trying to figure out a way to get them in her mouth. I also remember that she got so warm that she broke out with a heat rash. I couldn't figure out what the rash was from, at first I thought she was allergic to the hay, then my mom figured out it was from the heat. Poor baby!
See obsessed with the stem! Head up but eyes shut as it was too sunny for her. Come to think of it she was having a hard time yesterday with some pictures because it was too sunny. She must be extra sensitive to the sunlight.
She is getting so big, it is official I no longer have babies!
The girls together! I also wanted my dad to get a family picture this year. I figured that they are both old enough that we could actually get a decent family shot without my mom having to act silly to get them to laugh. It worked out well for the most part.
We also climbed on an old fire truck that they have there for the kids to play on. Along with going through a bounce house that was "haunted" and stuck our heads through the cardboard cut outs.
Everyone coming out of the Haunted Bounce House
Yep, even Cory went through!

What are those red lines on Cory's neck and the girls faces you ask? Well that is a laser didn't you know. Don't mind me and my non-make up self I thought I could hide behind my sunglasses all day and nobody would notice my lack of make-up. Well A. you look kind of funny wearing sunglasses inside a dark tunnel and B. you can't wear them if they break on you while you are at the pumpkin patch.

I'm not even gonna mention what the exit from the Bounce house looks like...I LOVE LOVE LOVE fall fun days
